I am a full-time mom of three kids. I have a seven year old music-loving girly girl, a five year old silly little boy who's always making us laugh, and a baby who has added lots of joy and love to our home. I'm married to a hard-working, sports-obsessed, family-loving guy. He's a great dad and he's always there for me whenever I need him. I'm on the verge of insanity most of the time, but I love my life and wouldn't want it any other way.

The Proposal
Me and Casey dated for a year after his mission before "the proposal." It was Christmas Eve and I had to work until 5:00 or so. Casey insisted that I come to his family Christmas party. They played a white elephant game and he said it was really fun since people brought good stuff. I didn't think I would make it in time. We had some very late customers that were being very rude by making us bring our cash drawer back out so they could buy a bunch of stupid little things. I was worried I would be making them wait for me and I didn't want to do that so I was a bit stressed. When I arrived at the party they quickly started the game. They started with the oldest person picking first. By the time they got to me there were three presents left. One was a reindeer that they brought back every year with either something really good or really stupid. Some were trying to get me to take it, others said not to. I was torn. Casey wanted me to take it but he wasn't that persistent. I don't know why I did it...considering that was assuming I would be to the party next year. I openned the present and there was a black box with a picture of Casey and a button that said "Play." I was very confused at this point. I pushed the button and it said, "Babe I love you, will you marry me?" And then Casey was on his knee with a ring. I was shocked! Leading up to this point we had looked at rings but Casey had told me a few days before that he forgot to call the jeweler to secure our ring purchase. I had no idea...and I feel I'm a very observant person. I thought for sure I would know when it was going to happen. I had requested at one point that it didn't happen in public...a fact Casey had forgotten. It was a bit embarassing being in front of his family but he defintitely surprised me. It's a memory that I will never forget. He had already talked to my parents so they couldn't wait for me to walk through the door with the ring on. That was seven years ago this Christmas Eve. At times it feels like we've been together for a long time but I still remember that night like it was yesterday.

Haha I still remember that Christmas Eve. Was it that long ago? Haha good times :)
What a great Christmas memory. My husband was going to ask me to marry him on Christmas Eve, but he arrived so late to my family party, that I was fuming mad at him so, needless to say, he waited and asked me on Christmas night instead. I was like you and had NO idea. Kind of funny...
I think I worked with you that night. I was so excited for you!! That seems like yesterday, and a very long time ago. Fun christmas memories for you two!
What a good story. I hope you guys are having a wonderful Christmas Eve!
