Happy Thanksgiving! (and a crazy Black Friday...)

I'm one of them, yes, that's right, one of the million's of people who woke up early his morning (4:00 to be exact) and attempted to cash in on the crazy Black Friday deals. I haven't been Black Friday shopping in a few years so I thought I would attempt it this year. I rolled out of bed and quickly drove to Wal-mart. The parking lot was jam packed! I found the items I really wanted and stood not-so-patiently next to them. It was pure insanity. People were calling a certain color and size of sheets. They were stacked in front of themselves for easy grabbing. The girl doing the stacking offered to save one for me. That made me less stressed. At about 5 minutes before go time a store employee came over and threw everyone's saved items back into the pile and told us to "just wait!" Yeah right lady, as soon as she as out of site everyone put their stuff back in front of them. It was pretty insane. I definitely think your true self shows on Black Friday. In the end I got exactly what I wanted, more than I needed, but isn't that what this shopping holiday is all about? Buying item you don't really need just because it's on sale (I try not to do that, but it's hard when something is such a good deal!) Did any of you go shopping today? Did you get what you wanted?

This is what happens when you wake up at 5:30 in the morning...yes people, he's an early riser!

There was a 4 gig iPod nano for $70 at RC Willey, and I got up (what I thought was early) but I didn't get it :( They only had 45 and so they gave tickets to the first 45 people in line who wanted one, and I wasn't lucky enough. Oh well- I am definitley not a Black Friday shopper!!

This was our first year of "black friday" shopping and my husband was at Walmart at 4:30am and didn't get a dang thing that we wanted...then he had to help a poor woman change her tire in the parking lot at 5:30am in the cold. Let's just say that we're NOT "black friday" shoppers at our house. I'd rather pay the extra bucks than fight the crouds! Oh well...it is kinda exciting, huh?

Becky, I wanted that ipod too! I drove past at 6:30 after I went to Wal-mart and the line was so long I didn't even try. It's crazy to stand outside in the freezing cold for 1 1/2 hours!!

You are nuts! I guess I think everyone that goes out on Black Friday is crazy. I'm not a "shopper" to begin with, so going out and dealing with all those intense shoppers sounds like a nightmare to me. Every year, the line at RC Willey almost reaches my house! Crazy, crazy, crazy.

I went to Kohl's for my stuff...waited in line to buy my loot for 2 hours (inside thankfully)!!!! But, I got what I wanted, so all is well. :) Black Friday's fun, but I'm glad it's over. :)

Jamie and I went. We always go to Old Navy first. We love their cloths and we got two free MP3 players. Wahoo. We go every year. This year was a piece of cake with the crowds. Nothing compared to the previous years.
